As well as this website the Planetarium & Observatory manage a number of microsites realted to our work:

  • Heliophysical website - our site established for International Heliophysical Year 2007, remains as a resource with links and information about the Sun, solar physics and solar astronomy. You can find out all about aurorae (Northern Lights), magnetic storms on the surface of our local star and lots of experiments that you can perform at home or in the classroom. It also tells you how to get aurora alerts as well as forthcoming solar events at the Planetarium & Observatory, visit it at www.heliophysical.org.uk.
  • YouTube site. Where we post various videos of events and astronomy related footage, visit it at www.youtube.com/wynyardplanetarium.

  • NEGAS website. The website for local amateur Astronomical Societies in the North-East of England. The North East Group of Astronomical Societies (NEGAS) is a loose affiliation of all amateur astronomical societies in the North-East of England, stretching from Northumberland to North Yorkshire; set-up to promote their activities and astronomy within the area, visit it at www.negas.org.uk.
