With increased demand for our facilities some groups are now having to book and plan their visits a long time in advance, and we are sure you will understand that cancellation at short notice denies them the opportunity of coming sooner. We have therefore decided to introduce a sliding scale of cancellation charges reflecting the need for early notification of any changes.

• Charges for cancellation of, or substantial changes to, your booking at short notice will be made as follows:
  • Over 2 months from date of visit: £50 (refundable if visit is rebooked at the time of cancellation to take place within 6 months of the original visit).  
  • Less than 2 months and greater that 1 month from date of visit: £50 or 50% of original booking value (whichever is the greater).
  • Less than 1 month and greater than 2 weeks from date of visit: £50 or 75% of original booking value (whichever is the greater).
  • Less than 2 weeks from date of visit: 100% of original booking value.
• Confirmation of all changes to bookings must be made by phone to the Planetarium on 01740 630544 and will be accepted upon receipt of a notification e-mail.
• If cancellation or substantial changes have to be made because of situations outside your control, then at the discretion of the Planetarium, provided the booking is rescheduled for a date within 6 months, the cancellation charge may be waived.
• For those groups wishing to make multiple visits in a given year, or make block bookings for shows, the time interval for rescheduling will be much shorter (depending upon the frequency of your visits), so please ask when booking shows. This is in order to be fair to everyone wishing to visit as the Planetarium currently operates as a part-time facility.
