Build a SHUTTLE NGC7635 Cassiopeia - Emmission Nebula

Our build a Space Shuttle activity is a fun learning session, making and flying cardboard 3D shuttle gliders provided in self-assembly kits by NASA. Our age guide for this activity is 7 to 12 years of age.

This activity can be taken into schools and community centres by planetarium staff or can be organised at Wynyard Woodland Park. We include this activity annually as a summer event for the general public - booking for this event is always essential as places are limited.

The activity lasts about an two hours, involves cutting cardboard with fairly sharp scissors and glueing, all of which involves a certain amount of manual dexterity that makes it unsuitable for younger children. When the event is held at the park we usually make use of the railway carriage if the weather isn't perfect, but if it's fine the event takes place outdoors.
